After a successful year 2018 in Heilbronn, the MS experimenta set sail for Stuttgart in spring 2019. Together with the VfB Stuttgart football club, the ship extended numerous hands-on offerings to visitors as part of the cooperation "Wissen mit Kick" (Get a kick out of knowledge).
During the Bundesgartenschau in summer 2019, the MS experimenta anchored at the BUGA grounds in Heilbronn. The ship attracted over 140,000 visitors with a variety of offerings and a special program of curated content to complement the garden show, including numerous courses as part of the "Colorful Classroom" project.
The 105m long ship is now being prepared for its next task. From the end of May to the beginning of November 2020, MS experimenta, the unique floating Science Center, will sail to Southern Germany, dropping anchor in more than 20 cities along the Neckar, the Rhine, the Main and the Main-Danube Canal.
As a floating ambassador, the 500 m² exhibition space aboard ship provides a brief introduction to the comprehensive offerings of Germany's largest science center and gives visitors a first look at the worlds of discovery, adventure and research to be found at experimenta in Heilbronn. In addition to various interactive stations, the ship also has a mini science dome on board with a 360° dome and a workshop area for guided hands-on experimentation and discovery.
Details about the MS experimenta tour can be found on this page starting in February 2020.
