I started out as a guide, but moved to the Akademie junger Forscher (today Pädagogik I / Education I) a year later and worked as a lab assistant in the elementary and primary school lab.

In 2013, I was hired on permanent basis as course leader in the elementary and primary school lab. Since the beginning of 2019, as department head, I am now responsible for the elementary and primary school labs as well as the test kitchen. Over the past few years, I have completed two continuing education courses. The one-year certification course of the Hessian museum association “Die Sprache der Dinge” / The Language of Things to introduce education and facilitation to museums and the master’s course “Childhood and Social Sciences” with a focus on creativity and culture.

It is the special encounters with our course participants that are the highlights for me. When children extend their thanks personally or in writing after the courses and leave experimenta with eyes shining, then I know that I was able to contribute a little bit to communicate STEM topics in a positive way.

Another personal highlight is the World Inventors Meeting that has been taking place here since June 2019. At this meeting, grade school children are free to putter around and build things. It is nice to see how they help each other, and we course leaders also learn something new every time. In experimenta, I have found an employer that offers me an exciting and interesting job. I have the opportunity to contribute my ideas here.
