Allow yourself to be captivated by stories from the natural sciences and technology – with our unusual live experiment shows. Experience our (3D)films on how man learned to fly or travel through time and space. Thanks to a gigantic projection dome, state-of-the-art laser technology and a 3D sound system, you are always immersed in the action. Experience unforgettable and spectacular moments in the Science Dome.

At the Science Dome, you can watch almost all of our films in English (with the exception of “My Friend Roxy”). Some shows are also available in Spanish or French.

They offer comfort, give advice, and make you feel like you’re being taken seriously: AI chatbots are now capable of having emotional conversations. But what actually determines whether we experience a conversation as empathetic and intimate? Is it the response, or who we perceive as our conversation partner? Bastian Schiller, Professor of Clinical Psychology at the Department of Psychology at Heidelberg University, will answer these questions at the Robert Mayer Lecture on June 9.

This fulldome experience about the Apollo mission to the moon in July 1969 takes you back in time and, thanks to the latest 3D technology, puts you right in the middle of the action from over 50 years ago. ‘CapCom’, short for “capsule communicator”, is the title of a very important person in manned space travel: The “CapCom” is the contact person here on Earth, more precisely in Houston, for the astronauts.

Our new fulldome production “My Friend Roxy” tells the story of Lizzi, who finds a broken robot on her way to school and embarks on an adventure full of technology, friendship, and curiosity. Together with her grandmother, she repairs the robot girl Roxy and teaches her about the world. In the process, Lizzi herself learns a lot about artificial intelligence, computers, and data protection. A lovingly crafted animated film about diversity, courage, and the question: Can you just keep a robot? For children aged 6 and up and anyone who believes that science can have a heart.

The Secrets of Gravity – 3D

The magic of gravity. Why do apples fall to the ground? This is the simple initial question that the famous physicist Isaac Newton asked himself. More than 300 years later, it is Albert Einstein who gives us a different perspective on this question.
